Steel Rule Die Cutting

Full range of flatbed steel rule die cutting capabilities

Steel Rule Die Cutting (Flat-Bed Die Cutting)

Baril Corporation's steel rule die cutting (also known as flat-bed die cutting or stamping) capabilities range from several manual handfed presses to high-speed servo-controlled presses. These operations are excellent for producing large format parts, or parts with thicknesses that may not work in rotary press set-ups.

Baril Corp. offers a range of steel rule die cutting options, including presses with in-line material laminating and multiple webs. We also offer flat-bed operations in our validated and certified ISO 14644 Class 7 clean room (with an environmental viable bioburden monitoring program in accordance with ISO 14698). The clean room environment is also monitored for temperature and humidity control, and is available for manufacturing terminally sterilized medical devices and other products requiring ultra-clean processing.

Advantages of In-House Steel Rule Die Making

For nearly 40 years, Baril Corp. has operated a state-of-the-art steel rule tool making operation. This inhouse capability - when combined with hand-operated flat bed presses - enables Baril to rapidly produce and refine prototype parts during the early stages of a program. Quite often, customers will call on us to produce short runs of a prototype or early stage product using this capability. We can also produce variants of a product design by working with our master tool builders.

Baril's in-house tool making shop also streamlines our steel rule die cutting production operations. Master die makers are closely integrated with our engineering and production teams to accelerate development and refinement of prototype and production tooling. The die makers' close proximity to the production team also helps speed process troubleshooting should issues arise. During the early stages of a production program, our die makers will work closely with the production team to smooth the transition to production volumes.

A Quality Commitment to Match Our Technical Expertise

Baril Corporation's technical die cutting team seeks to regularly advance the state-of-the-art across our various die cutting disciplines as a means of helping our clients achieve their most demanding objectives. But Baril also recognizes that a sound quality program is the foundation of everything we deliver for our customers. While we expand our technical capabilities, we also work every day to deliver the best quality program in the precision die cutting and converting industry.

Baril's operations are governed by extensive quality processes and systems that dictate how we operate our business. Our facility is ISO 13485:2003 and ISO 9001:2008 certified. We supplement those certifications with an active culture of proactive attention to detail to ensure conformance with our demanding protocols and processes.

Baril's quality commitment can be seen in our full-time quality manager, our "quality by design" (QbD) engineering and manufacturing approaches, a validated and certified ISO 14644 Class 7 clean room (with an environmental viable bioburden monitoring system and full IQ/OQ/PQ documentation) and several state-of-the-art inspection systems (including automated vision systems).

The Baril team understands that many of the products we manufacture are critical to saving or protecting human life. As a result, our quality programs deliver the documented reproducibility and reliability that these products demand.
